Pamela owns our gallery while selling her art here in Ely.
Recently Pamela completed a professional leather certificate from the Chicago (USA) School of Shoemaking and Leather Art.
In July, and August 2025 Pamela featured her leather art in an exhibition titled Touched by Leather in our Artist's Den here at the gallery.
Pam’s art captures the color, energy, and magic in her imagination. She has woven exciting tapestries and baskets, hand dying the wool and reed. Currently she is focused on leather art, using marbling and other dyeing techniques for the color, often adorning pieces with beads. She makes wallets, jewelry, wall hangings, purses, pouches and whose knows what else all out of leather.
* Pamela J Davis has studied international and domestically with acclaimed leather makers, basket makers, tapestry artists, beaders, and coppersmiths.
* Pamela J Davis has been awarded funding from the Minnesota States Arts Board, the Arrowhead Regional Arts Center, and local organizations such as the Donald G. Humanities Trust Individual Artist Grant in Ely, MN, USA
* Pamela J Davis’ art is displayed in numerous permanent and private collections, exhibits internationally, nationally, and locally.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio (USA), Pamela has moved numerous times throughout the USA from San Francisco, to New York City, and several cities in-between pursuing careers, education and lifestyle changes.
Ellen keeps things looking good and running smoothly while selling her art here.
She has been involved in art and music since childhood. Ellen has a degree in Interior Design and practiced architectural design for over forty years. After practicing design in Minneapolis for twenty years she moved to Ely in 1995 to start a rustic design and furniture business. In 2008 she began working for the Ely Chamber of Commerce, coordinating their events, Blueberry/Art Festival, Harvest Moon Festival and others.
Ellen has retired from design and the festivals. She is excited to devote more time to her bead design and learning new methods of art. She is inspired by life and the interests she's acquired over the years. Ellen is a collector of beauty, organizing with color, patterns, and balance.
Ellen's interest in Native American history and art lead her to the art of telling a story with beads. Her inspiration also comes from life, wildlife, wolves, wild mustangs and her pollinator gardens, flowers, butterflies and her surroundings. Sometimes they are all woven together.
Nancy, the original founder of the gallery, while selling her art here in Ely.
